Angelo Zenorini, retired administrator

Angelo Zenorini, 82 of Millsboro, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Union City, N.J.

Mr. Zenorini resided in Long Neck for the past 10 years, previously of Wilmington. Mr. Zenorini retired from the state of Delaware after 30 years of service. He started as an auditor and managed several different divisions at the Department of Revenue, and he was instrumental in the setup of the first computer system at the Division of Revenue, culminating his career as the network administrator. Mr. Zenorini helped establish the union at the Division of Revenue and had served as it’s past president.

Mr. Zenorini was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight in New Castle. He helped start and was past president of the Little League in New Castle. Mr. Zenorini was a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Zenorini enjoyed wood carving, specializing in birds and ducks, working on computers and learning things. He was an avid dog lover, especially his greyhounds. Mr. Zenorini was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Zenorini was preceded in death by his grandson Brian Zenorini. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Phyllis M. (Gehrold) Zenorini; his two sons: Steven Zenorini and his wife Wendy Jean of Newark, and David Zenorini and his wife Theresa of Franklin, Tenn.; his two daughters: Brenda Zenorini of Wilmington and Christine Zenorini of New Castel; his two stepdaughters: Linda Palermo of Newark and Darlene Haynes of Newark; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m., at St. George’s Chapel, 20274 Beaver Dam Road at Route 23 Harbeson, where friends may call beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the ICU staff at Beebe Medical Center for their care and support during Mr. Zenorini’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Zenorini’s name may be made to Greyhound Rescue Inc., 862 Cressen Dr., Gerrardstown, WV 25420.
