Christopher 'Skip' Chapman, Grotto Pizza manager

Christopher P. Chapman “Skip” of Millsboro passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident.

Skip was born April 1, 1980, in White Plains, N.Y. to Deborah Cora and Phillip Chapman, who survive him.

He was the manager of Grotto Pizza in South Bethany. He was a 1998 graduate of Indian River High School and also attended Delaware Tech in Georgetown. He was an animal and dog lover who also volunteered at the SPCA in Georgetown. He was a wonderful man who was devoted to his family, especially his mother. He will be missed by many.

Skip is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Joseph Chapman; and maternal grandparents, Floyd and Constance Conklin.

He is survived by his mother, Deborah Cora of Millsboro; father, Phillip Chapman of Elmsford, N.Y.; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Chapman of Elmsford; sisters, Alona Maryland of Frankford, Jacqueline Stramandinoli of Stanford, Conn. and Kisha Patterson of Elmsford; brothers, Joel Chapman and Shawn Chapman of Elmsford; an uncle, Calvin Chapman of Elmsford; an aunt, Gail Conklin of Putnam Valley, N.Y.; nieces, Cissie Maryland, Maria Levato, Lachenay Patterson, Shaquana Patterson, Nicole and Maria Stramandinoli; nephews, Antonio Levato, Jayquan and Quesean Patterson; best friends, Brian Gay and Brad Veeder. Skip is also survived by many cousins, extended family members, friends, co-workers and customers.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call after 5 p.m. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the SPCA, 22918 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947.
