Jill N. Smith, loved family, friends

October 16, 2013

Jill N. Smith, 49, of Lewes passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Jan. 15, 1964, in Reading, Pa., Jill was the daughter of Harley and the late Marilyn Smith and a 1982 graduate of Wilson High School. She loved fine art and interior design and owned and operated Jillian’s gift boutique on Penn Ave. in Wyomissing, Pa.

Jill was a beautiful young woman who simply loved life, adored her family and enjoyed every minute she spent living and laughing with her friends. Being near the ocean and sand brought her the greatest happiness. She eventually relocated to her favorite place, Dewey Beach, where she lived happily for the past 13 years.

Jill is survived by her loving companion of 12 years, Bill Massey of Rehoboth Beach, and her two brothers, Scott Smith and his wife Helen of Reading, and Jeff Smith and his wife Pam of Robesonia, Pa. Aunt Jill is also survived by her niece Nicole Johnson and her husband Danny of Scottsdale, Ariz., and her three nephews: Derek, Gunnar and Harley. She was predeceased by her niece Mia Smith.

A Celebration of Life Service was held Wednesday, Oct. 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Robesonia.

Bill will host a memorial service to celebrate Jill’s life at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, at the end of Dickinson Avenue on Rehoboth Bay in Dewey Beach.

In lieu of flowers, Bill and Jill's family would appreciate a memorial contribution in the name of Jill Smith to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Suite 101, Rehoboth Beach DE 19958.
