Nursing student Chloe Charlsen receives fall 2013 Joan Bennett Tease Scholarship

October 30, 2013

The first Joan Bennett Tease Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 was awarded to Chloe Charlsen, a first-year student at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Medical Center.

Charlsen, a Dagsboro resident, graduated from Sussex Technical High School. This scholarship was established in memory of Joan Bennett Tease by her son, Jeffrey J. Tease. Mrs. Tease was a 1951 graduate of the Lankenau School of Nursing in Wynnwood, Pa. Her primary area of interest was maternity and neonatal nursing.

Connie Bushey, RN, MSN, MEd, director of the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing, said, “We are most appreciative that Jeff Tease remembered his mother with this scholarship to benefit our student.”

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Medical Center is the only hospital-based nursing program in Delaware, and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, formerly NLNAC.  Beebe graduates consistently have high NCLEX pass rates and can complete a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Wilmington University and University of Delaware through well-defined articulation agreements.
