Gallery One in Ocean View announces a one-day workshop, Beginners Abstract and Collage, with artist Tara Funk Grim from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2.

This class is for those who have never painted or have not painted in mixed media. Students will explore some basic design and painting techniques using acrylic paints and collage and will be able to go home and begin their own practice of painting. No experience is necessary.

The fee is $100 and includes all materials.

Grim is a signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and has won many awards including Best of Show in 2D in Bonita Springs, Fla., in 2012. She has been teaching artists for more than 25 years and considers herself both an artist and teacher. She is a frequent teacher at the Rehoboth Art League, Dellaplaine Art Center, Ocean City Art Center, Bonita Springs Art Center, GoggleWorks and Kripalu; she conducts workshops to Greece, France, Italy, Ireland, England, and Switzerland.
