LHS thanks Irish Eyes Lewes

October 28, 2013

The Lewes Historical Society would like to thank everyone who came to support the Jack Daniels Statue Contest at Irish Eyes Lewes on the evening of Oct. 17.  We are very grateful to Irish Eyes for selecting the society as the beneficiary of this event. Their continued support for the community and the society is extraordinary and much appreciated.

We would also like to thank United Distributors of Delaware and Jack Daniels for hosting this fun fundraising event.  United Distributors selected five fantastic local bars - Harpoon Hannas, Hammerheads Dockside, The Starboard, Smitty McGee’s and Woody’s.  Each bar was represented by a creatively decorated, life-size Jack Daniels statue.  The public was invited to vote for their favorite statue, buying tickets by the bundles to support their selection.

The winning statue was created by Smitty McGee’s.  All proceeds benefited the Lewes Historical Society.  This was a wonderful fundraising event, and for that we thank Irish Eyes, United Distributors, all of the bars who created the statues, event volunteers, and everyone who came to place their vote to support the Lewes Historical Society.
