David C. Brown, loved driving trucks

David C. Brown, 55, of Delmar, passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford of a massive heart attack.

He was born Oct. 13, 1958, in Wilmington, son of Everette and Grace (Carl) Brown. David served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Forrestal in the late 1970s. He loved driving trucks for David Horsey. He also drove semi-trucks for years.

David enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, taking his wife to flea markets and walks on the boardwalk. He was also a handyman, fixing anything for anybody. David was a member of the AA program for 17 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Laurel.

He is survived by his loving wife of four-plus years, Rosemary Steele-Brown; his children, Terri of West Grove, Pa., Lauren of Bear, Shaun of Philadelphia, Pa. and David II of Lancaster County, Pa.; a sister, Grace Gardener of Cochranville, Pa.; two brothers, Ralph of Dover and Joseph of Newark; special friends, Kelly, Wayne and Kelsey; and his special cat and dog, Precious and Pretty Boy.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 25, at 11:30 a.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St. in Frankford, where friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by the burial at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Melson Funeral Services, PO Box 100, Frankford, DE. 19945, to help with funeral expenses.
