William E. “Billy” Rossell Jr., self-employed musician

Mr. William E. “Billy” Rossell Jr. of Millsboro, formerly of Wilmington passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013.

Billy was born May 24, 1954, in Wilmington to the late William E. Rossell Sr and Judith Kleckner Rossell who survives him. In addition to his father, he is preceded by a sister, Diane K. Rossell; brother, Steven M. Rossell;  and one niece.

He was a graduate of William Penn High School in New Castle and also a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church. Billy was a self-employed musician, playing the guitar and singing. Over the years he was in a number of bands. He was an Eagles fan and worked out regularly. He was his mother’s gentle giant. Billy was spiritual and had a kind heart. His hobby was his music. The two biggest things in his life were his family and his music, but his mother would say “his hobbies were music, music, music!” He was a very spiritual person who loved his family dearly, and his family loved him dearly.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters: Donna Roberts of Spindale, N.C. and Judith J. McKee and her husband Ken of Chesapeake City, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Glebe Cemetery in New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of one’s choice in Billy’s memory.
