Business leader Rod Ward is Principal for a Day at Sussex Tech

November 4, 2013

Sussex Technical High School recently hosted Rod Ward as its Principal of the Day. Ward is the president and CEO of Corporation Service Company, a leader for business, legal and financial services worldwide. Headquartered in Wilmington, CSC has offices throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. It was founded in 1899 by two Delaware attorneys who saw an opportunity to simplify the way corporations were formed and operated, and maintained their compliance. Its goal is to make business easier, more profitable, and less risky.

Ward spent his time at Sussex Tech meeting staff and students, visiting academic and career-technical classrooms, doing hall duty and lunch duty, as well as being interviewed during the school’s morning television newscast.

Ward expressed his positive impression of the students at Sussex Tech. “There is a definite feeling of school pride among your students,” he said.

Principal of the Day is a program sponsored by the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. Its goals are to create a closer connection between school, college, and career, and to foster working relationships between business leaders and educators. Since 2004, the program has facilitated 1,283 school visits.
