Delmarva Power alerts motorists to traffic advisory

Cable work over routes 1 and 13 to cause intermittent delays
November 2, 2013

Delmarva Power will be installing a fiber optic cable over routes 1 and 13, just north of the Smyrna Rest Area and Information Center between 6:30 and 10 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 3. The new cable will enhance electric service reliability since it will improve communications with the utility’s operations center.

This work will affect traffic as motorists will experience intermittent rolling road blocks on routes 1 and 13 along with intermittent lane closures on Route 13. During the same time frame, the ramp 119A/Route 1 southbound exit to Route 13 southbound will be closed. Traffic will be directed to the ramp 119B/Smyrna Rest Area & Information Center to Route 13 southbound.

Motorists are advised to be aware of these temporary traffic changes while driving on routes 1 and 13 during the aforementioned time period.
