Smyk to hold monthly coffee meetings

State Rep. Steve Smyk, R-Milton, will hold the first of his monthly coffee meetings with constituents Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 7 to 8 a.m., at.Surf Bagel Restaurant, Lewes, near Five Points. While Smyk says he often stops to chat with constituents, he is staging the gatherings to give all 20th District residents an opportunity to casually discuss with him anything that is on their minds.

“This is the kind of thing that was once common, but has become increasingly rare even in Delaware,” Smyk said. “Cellphones and email are great, but there is no substitute for being able to meet with someone faceto- face.” The coffee is free.
