Dolores Julia Deaton, retired housekeeper

Dolores Julia Deaton, 84, a resident of Milton since 2003, formerly of Hyattsville, Md., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at home.  She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa.

She was a housekeeper for the University of Maryland, College Park, for 20 years, retiring in 1987.

She was a member of Eagle's Nest Fellowship Church in Milton. She loved spending time with her daughter Linda and any kind of animal. Her favorite color was red. She enjoyed Big Band music, especially the Glenn Miller Band.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Deaton, in 2004.

She is survived by her children, Robert L. Deaton and wife Patdi of Springfield, Tenn. and Linda Deaton of Milton; brother Jerry Koch of Pittsburgh; one granddaughter, Amy Steed of Springfield; and one great-granddaughter, Sarah Steed.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. at Eagle's Nest Fellowship Church, 26633 Zion Church Road, Milton, where friends may call after 6:30 p.m. Burial will be private. Please wear something red in her honor.
