Judith D. Lamar, retired teacher

Judith D. Lamar, 75, of Harbeson, passed away suddenly Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center. She was born in Binghamton, N.Y., Dec. 25, 1937, to the late Harry Dwyer and Helen (Simonovich) Dwyer.

Mrs. Lamar was an elementary school teacher who had taught for many years in the Maryland and Northern Virginia area. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a Loudoun County master gardener, instrumental in establishing a teaching demonstration garden in Leesburg, Va. She also was an avid lover of animals.

She is survived by her husband, Lucius Q. C. Lamar III; her son Luke Lamar IV and wife Jan Pasternak of Anandale, Va. and their daughter Frieda Rose Lamar; one daughter Susan Lynn Lamar; and her half brother Harry Dwyer of Endicott, N.Y.

All services will be private.
