Georgetown couple charged with selling alcohol, operating store out of home

A Georgetown couple faces charges Nov. 7 after officials say they operated a convenience store and sold alcohol out of their home.

Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement agents received a tip that Alicia M. Lopez, 66 and Graciano Lopez, 80, of 11 Lantern Lane operated an unlicensed convenience store and restaurant at the location, said Kimberly H. Chandler of the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement.

The couple sold alcohol and other beverages, food and personal items, she said.

Agents seized beer and $1,320 in cash. The Division of Public Health was also notified.

Both Alicia and Graciano Lopez were charged with selling alcohol without a license. Graciano additionally was charged with illegal storage of alcohol and operating a business without a license. Alicia was released on $250 unsecured bond; Graciano on $750 unsecured bond.
