Skate the Cape Shred Festival held at state park

The second annual Skate the Cape Shred Festival was hosted Nov. 9-10 by Faceplant Boardriders, which is owned by brothers Rick and Rob Wheeler from Middletown.

Faceplant Boardriders, a longboard company, and WheelRZ, a longboard wheel company, created the two-day event in Cape Henlopen State Park with day one an Enduro Push Race and a downhill race. Day two was a slalom race and then a slide competition. Liquid Board Shop and Red Bull were sponsors of the event.

Local winners were:

Max Bisaha, Lewes, Third Place AM Enduro Push Race.

Delaware winners were:

Jesse Wipf, Middletown - Second Place Slalom
Matt English, Newark - Third Place Slalom
Dylan Baist-Bliss, Newark - Third Place Open (pro) DH Race
