Gallery One offers Introduction to Oil Painting with Marina Borovok

Gallery One in Ocean View will offer an Introduction to Oil Painting class with Marina Borovok, to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on four successive Mondays, Dec. 2 to 23.

Students will learn materials, tools, and approaches to painting in oil. Color mixing and color application practices are the primary focus of the course. The emphasis is on direct observation from life. Subjects will include still life and landscape. This intensive, skill-building course requires four hours of homework every week. Prerequisite: Drawing skills. The fee is $35 per class.

Borovok began her studio art studies in the classes of professors Peter Collier and James Adkins. Born in the former Soviet Union, she studied biology in Kiev, Ukraine, and holds a BS and PhD in biology and an MS in education from Johns Hopkins University. Currently, she is teaching classes at the University of Delaware.
