Children of The Glade Food Drive brings in a ton of generosity

Support services such as delivery trucks have been generously donated by Grotto Pizza each year in the Children of The Glade Food Drive. Paper grocery bags are donated by Giant Food. The annual Children of The Glade Food Drive took place Nov. 16. Neighborhood youth collected nearly 1,500 pounds of nonperishable food and household items as well as cash donations of $1,350.
The first Children of The Glade Food Drive took place in 2010. Each year, paper grocery bags with suggested shopping lists are delivered in November throughout The Glade and Henlopen Acres, which was added in 2011. In four years nearly 7,000 pounds of food and $5,000 in cash have been collected.
