Capturing Light Photography digital classes begin Dec. 2

Veteran photographer Marc Clery will offer digital photography classes beginning Monday, Dec. 2, at Studio Henlopen, 19849 Hebron Road in Rehoboth Beach.

Clery is offering his Capturing Light Photography course, focusing on basic and advanced techniques of digital photography. Instruction will include proper camera exposures using shutter speeds and f-stops, and the art of editing. Each student will learn how to best edit their images with an eye for what makes a great photo.

Each course will include two classroom sessions and two outdoor sessions. The first course begins Monday, Dec. 2, and the class will meet at Studio Henlopen in Rehoboth Beach from 6 to 8 p.m. The outdoor sessions will be held on Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m.

Tuition is $175 per student. Enrollment is limited to four students per course.

Clery, who is a freelance photographer, has extensive experience in photojournalism, and commercial, wedding, portraiture and fine art photography. He has received numerous awards from professional organizations such as the National Press Photographers Association, the Florida Press Association and the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association.

He has worked with The Miami Herald, The Vero Beach Press-Journal, The News Journal and Delaware State News, and his work has been published in USA Today, The Washington Post, The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Wall Street Journal newspapers, as well as in Delaware Beach Life, Delaware Today and Wine magazines.

Clery also has taught photography as an adjunct instructor at Wesley College.
