Clarence E. Hall Sr., retired truck driver

Mr. Clarence E. Hall Sr., 88, of Bishopville, Md. passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Mr. Hall aka “Pudd/Cool-Pop”was born March 25, 1925, in Showell, Md. to the late Edward and Edith Hall Whaley. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his wife of 64 years, Annabelle Hall in November 2007.

Clarence worked as a truck driver for Bert Cropper Concrete Company before retiring in 2007. He was associated with and a generous supporter of the Calvary Pentecostal Church and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a family man and liked sightseeing. Trucking and spending time with his family were his enjoyment in life.

He is survived by two children, Clarence Hall Jr. of Berlin, Md. and Mary (George) Webber of Fruitland, Md.; two sisters, Betty Johnson of Dover and Bessie Manuel of Bishopville; brothers, James (Janice) Dennis of Greenwood, Thomas Hall Sr. of Bishopville and William (Catherine) Whaley, of Berlin; adopted daughter Joyce (Leon) Tingle of Bishopville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service and celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Bishopville, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Pastor Rosie Hall will officiate.
