Local churches announce Christmas Eve, Christmas services

Conley’s UMC Christmas Eve services

Conley’s Church will have four candlelight worship services on Christmas Eve, Tuesday Dec, 24, at 4:30, 6:30 and 11 p.m. at the new church at 33106 Jolyns Way off Camp Arrowhead Road, a half-mile from Peddlers Village shopping center on Route 24; and also at 8:30 p.m. at the old Conley's Chapel at 22150 Robinsonville Road, one-half mile from the Angola traffic light on Route 24. Conley’s UMC regular worship times are 6:30 p.m., Saturday nights and 8:45 and 10:30 a.m., Sundays. There are also active prayer and Bible study groups, as well as women’s, men’s and youth groups.

Groome United Methodist Church to hold Candlelight Service Dec. 24

Groome United Methodist Church will hold a Candlelight Service at 5 p.m., Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24. This is a family service, and communion will be served.

Holy Spirit Anglican Mission to hold Candlelight Service Dec. 24

Holy Spirit Anglican Mission, 1528 Savannah Road in Lewes, will hold a Candlelight Service at 5 p.m., Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24.

Long Neck UMC announces Christmas Eve services

Long Neck United Methodist Church, 32051 Long Neck Road, Long Neck will hold two Christmas Eve services Tuesday, Dec. 24. The 7 p.m. service will focus on the family and conclude with a candle lighting; the 9 p.m. service will be a traditional one with celebration of communion and conclude with a candle lighting. St. Edmond Catholic Church posts Christmas week schedule

St. Edmond Catholic Church, Laurel Street and King Charles Avenue in Rehoboth Beach, announces its Christmas week schedule. Mass will be celebrated at 4 and 10 p.m. in the church as well as 4 p.m. in the Parish Hall Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24. Masses for Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, will be at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. A Mass on the vigil of the Solemnity of Mary comes at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31. Masses on the feast of the Solemnity of Mary are at 8:30 and 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 1.

St. Jude The Apostle announces Christmas week liturgy schedule

St. Jude The Apostle Church announces its Mass schedule during Christmas week: Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24: Masses celebrating The Solemnity of Nativity of the Lord will be held in the church at 4, 6 and 10 p.m. The 4 p.m. Mass will be the Family Liturgy. On Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, Masses will be held at 8:30 and 10 a.m.

Vigil Masses celebrating the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God are scheduled at 4 and 6 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31. Mass celebrating the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God is scheduled for 8:30 and 10 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 1.

Confessions will also be heard Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 21 and 22, from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament is also available from 6 a.m. Mondays until noon on Saturdays and again on Sundays from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

St. Peter's Episcopal Church announces Christmas Eve/Christmas worship

St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Second and Market streets in Lewes, will hold a Holy Eucharist Service with Children's Pageant at 4 p.m., Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24.  An 8 p.m. Holy Eucharist with handbells also takes place Tuesday, Dec. 24 (prelude at 7:30 p.m.)  A Festal Choral Eucharist with Adult Choir occurs at 11 p.m.; prelude begins at 10:30 p.m.  At 9 a.m., Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, a Holy Eucharist with carols will take place.

UUSD to hold A Night of Peace and Hope Christmas Eve Service

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will gather at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 33739 Marsh Road in Lewes for A Night of Peace and Hope Christmas Eve Service. In a somewhat traditional service for all ages, the Rev. D. Michael Smith and the congregation welcome all to join them in celebrating Christmas Eve in stories and songs, traditional and a little less so. St. George AME to hold special worship service Dec. 25

St. George AME Church at 317 Park Ave. in Lewes will hold a special worship service from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 25. All offerings on that day will benefit the George H.P. Smith Scholarship Fund in honor of the late mayor of Lewes. Call 302-645-5413 for more information.
