Charles M. Betts, retired instructor

Charles M. Betts, 77, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital.

Charles was born Sept. 5, 1936, in Milford to the late Harry M. and Lovey M. (Lofland) Betts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Betts was employed for 26 years as an accounting instructor with Delaware Technical Community College, Terry Campus, in Dover, retiring in 2006. He attended the Greenwood United Methodist Church, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nancy M. Betts; two sons, Keith Betts, and Courtney Messick; a grandson, Jeffrey Baker, whom they raised and considered a son; three daughters, Kathy Martinez, Lisa Workman, and Sutton Joseph; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Contributions in Charles's memory may be made to the Greenwood United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 217, Greenwood, DE 19950. Arrangements handled by Rogers Funeral Home, Milford.
