Isabel Virginia Ware, retired bookkeeper

Isabel Virginia Ware passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. She was born in Aberdeen, Md. the daughter of the late Harry Hamilton and Isabel Cornelia (Hamilton) Lee.

She was a bookkeeper for the child support unit for the State of Delaware for 27 years. She enjoyed sewing and doing plastic canvas projects as well as going to dinner and visiting with her friends and relatives in Maryland. She was a member of McColley's U.M. Church in Redden and very active with the youth group at the church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Melvin Ware Sr. in 1982; son, Melvin Ware Jr.; and brother James Stanley Lee. She is survived by her children, Virginia Lee Short of Ellendale and Isabel Rifenburg (Frank) of Georgetown; sister, Alice Lehr of Abington, Md.; 16 grandchildren, Anne Ennis (Jeff), Joan Glasco (Eric), Laura Beck, Paul Ranalli (Tracey), Wendy Ware (Dan), Wanda Wisseman (Tommy), Wesley Ware (Desiree), Karen Murphy (Mike), Sharon Pusey (Wayne), George Jester (Evelyn), Norman Jester, Shelly O'Connell (Kevin), Sherri Bennett (Jeff), Brett Ryan (Allison), Teddy Rifenburg, and David Rifenburg; 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after noon. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Georgetown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to McColley's U.M. Church, c/o Grace Davis, 19024 DuPont Hwy., Georgetown, DE 19947.
