Village Ladies donate to West Rehoboth family

December 29, 2013

The Village Ladies of the Villages at Herring Creek community recently gathered to celebrate the holiday season. The Village Ladies meet once a month at the community clubhouse and wanted to share with the community at large.

The group decided to adopt a family through the West Rehoboth Children and Youth Program. The family, a mom and three children, lost their home in a fire and are currently living with relatives.

For Thanksgiving, the VHC residents collected food items and a Giant gift card for the adopted family. The VHC Kindness Committee, Arlene Hannon, Jan Raggie, Marie Bolsch, Sheila Young and Connie Jones, collected donations from VHC residents and purchased an abundance of Christmas gifts for the children. In addition, a food basket and gift cards were given to the mom.

The Village Ladies celebrated with a gift-wrapping luncheon Dec. 11. All the gifts were wrapped and ready for delivery on Christmas Eve. It was truly rewarding for the VHC residents to share with the community at large and help the VHC adopted family have a Merry Christmas.
