Robert J. Reed, DuPont retiree
Robert J. Reed, 79, of Millsboro, formerly of Pennsville, N.J., was called to reunite with our Lord Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013 with his wife by his side.
Robert retired from DuPont in 1994 with 15 years of service. He served his country from 1956-58 in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing and traveling to watch his granddaughters play softball. Robert was preceded in death by his mother Anna Durham.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 54 years, Carrol (Nefferdorf) Reed; his daughter, Deborah Walker and her husband Jay of Middletown; two granddaughters, Dana and Ashley Walker; three brothers, Glendon, Harry and Ronald Durham; four sisters, Donna Martell, Elizabeth Jones, Sharon English and Barbara Zeli and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. Burial will be private. The family wishes to thank the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice who gave Robert such wonderful care during his illness.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Robert’s memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 DuPont Blvd., Suite 6, Millsboro, DE 19966.
