Gladys M. Wilkins, lifetime Milton resident

Gladys M. Wilkins, 84, lifetime resident of Milton, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes.

Gladys lived her lifetime in Milton, in the farmhouse where she was born. She was a homemaker. Gladys attended Grace Church in Milton and was a member of the VFW ladies auxiliary and many years ago was a member of Milton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was very active in the Milton Historical Society and was well known for supplying bannie eggs from the stock she raised, for fundraising auctions, where they brought high dollar amounts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary (Schmidt) Madjarosy; her husband, Norman F. Wilkins; two brothers, Frank and Charles Madjarosy; and two sisters, Ann Welch and Emily Maas.

She is survived her loving family, including, her nephew, Edward Maas and wife Janet; two great-nieces, Judy Tate and husband Chad, and Cathy Hastings and husband David, all of Seaford; four great-great nieces, Courtney and Jenna Tate, Cailey and Macenzie Hastings; and a host of friends and community members who loved her dearly.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m.,  in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton with visitation after noon. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Grace Church, 514 Union St., Milton, DE 19968.
