Anita Ellen Lynch, retired switchboard operator

Anita Ellen Lynch, 93, of Millsboro, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at the Lucy Corr Nursing home in Chesterfield, Va.

Mrs. Lynch was born in Lewes Dec. 8, 1920, daughter of the late Orrie and Sally (Harrington) Magee. She retired as a switchboard operator at the Stockley Center in Georgetown.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist in Millsboro, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Millsboro.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Lynch Sr.; and a daughter, Joan McCabe. She is survived by a daughter, Adele L. Pritchett of Midlothian, Va.; a son, Thomas W. Lynch Jr. and his wife Susan of Georgetown; seven grandchildren, Thomas W. Lynch III, Jennifer Lynch, Brandon Pritchett, Leigh Pritchett, Jeremiah Pritchett, Scott Lynch and Crystal McCabe; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan, 2, at 1 p.m. at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Anita’s name to Meals on Wheels, 546 S. Bedford St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
