Deanna D. Rogers, construction co. operator

Mrs. Deanna D. Rogers, 75, of Georgetown, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2014.

Mrs. Rogers was born in Keyser, W.Va., Nov. 25, 1938, to the late Carl and Mabel Arbogast Schell. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by two sisters, Judy and Sheila of West Virginia.

She was co-owner and operator of Dee-Will Construction, and was previously employed at several commercial and residential construction firms in Pennsylvania as a project coordinator.

She moved to the Georgetown area about six years ago. She had previously lived in Ocean Pines, Md., California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She was a member of the CO-ED Scramble Group and the Golf Club. She loved golfing, cooking, gardening and canning. She was devoted to her family. She had many endearing qualities about her. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William J. Rogers of Georgetown; five children: Anita McRory of Swindon, Wiltshire, UK, Patrick Rogers and wife Patti of Red Hill, Pa., James Rogers and wife Lori of Perkiomenville, Pa., Charles Rogers and wife Deborah of Barto, Pa. and daughter Nancy Thompson (widow of Eric Thompson) of Perkiomenville, Pa.; two brothers, Daniel Schell and wife Karen of Odenton, Md., and Chris Schell and wife Judy of Frostburg, Md.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren are in the works! She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her name to the Georgetown SPCA, 22918 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, DE 19947, or to a local SPCA, or animal shelter/rescue of your choice.
