McConnel speaks to Rehoboth-Dewey chamber

Construction fraud, mortgage fraud and identity theft are among the top problems facing the Delaware Attorney General's Office.

Speaking to chamber members at King’s Creek Country Club Jan. 9, Chief Deputy Attorney General Ian McConnel said for the past six years the Attorney General’s Office has tried to get ahead of fraud cases before those committing the fraud become judgment proof and can't be forced to pay back their victims.

“There’s never a dull moment in the Attorney General’s Office,” he said. “Between murders and misdemeanors, mortgages to advice and guidance. Our office is chock full of important work.”

McConnel was filling in for his boss, Attorney General Joseph “Beau” Biden III, who cancelled the day before because of a scheduling conflict.
