Richard 'Ricky' Markline, retired factory worker

Richard “Ricky” Lee Markline, 60, of Millsboro, formerly of Westminster, Md., passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Markline was born in Baltimore, Md.  March 5, 1953, son of Donald Wholaver and Eva Marie Markline. Ricky retired as a factory worker, was a volunteer firefighter in Westminster with 20 years of service, and had worked part time at American Legion Post 28 before his illness.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra L. Markline; his father Donald Wholaver; a brother, David Wholaver; a sister, Barbara Rankin and a dear friend, Don C. Cameron. He is survived by his mother, Eva Marie Markline; a sister, Deborah A. Krout and her husband Victor of Glen Rock, Pa.; a brother, James Edward Wholaver and his wife Kathryn of Biglerville, Pa.; his dear friend, Clarence Barkley of Millsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, in the chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park, Route 113 in Millsboro. Arrangements by the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ricky’s name to the Delaware SPCA, 22918 DuPont Hwy., Georgetown, DE 19947, or American Legion Post 28, 31768 Legion Road, Millsboro, DE 19966.
