Sons of the American Legion Post 17 donates to military cause

January 20, 2014

The Sons of the American Legion Post 17 in Lewes recently presented a $500 check to the USO/Families of the Fallen at Dover Air Force Base. The funds will be used to stock The Fisher House with food and other necessities for military families. The Fisher House provides a comfortable home setting for families attending dignified transfers of their military loved ones' remains.

Squadron 17 donated a total of $750 to The Fisher House from profits made on a TV raffle. Members thank all those who supported the fundraiser.

Finance Officer Tom Murray and Squadron 17 Commander Dave Borek made the presentation to USO Delaware Program Coordinator Bill Flanders. Shown are (l-r) Murray, Flanders and Borek.
