Robert G. Bennett Jr., could fix anything

Robert Garner Bennett Jr., 73, of Millsboro, passed away Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Dec. 21, 1940, son of the late Robert G. and Gaye (Podufal) Bennett Sr.

Bob enjoyed fishing the local waters and working around the yard. Mr. Bennett was well known for his skills in refurbishing furniture and was truly a “Mr. Fix It.” He enjoyed the time spent with family, friends and especially with his granddaughter, Maggie.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Bennett. He is survived by his wife Judy; a son: Robert Garner Bennett III and wife Jennifer of Chesapeake Beach, Md.; a daughter: Kristen M. Bennett and husband Bill Berninger of Portland, Ore.; one granddaughter: Maggie Bennett; and a brother: Ronald J. Bennett and wife Linda of Pensacola, Fla.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m., at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Interment with military honors will immediately follow Mass at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edmond Catholic Church, as listed above or to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
