Beebe Medical Foundation Names Thomas J. Protack to the Position of Director of Development

January 23, 2014

The Beebe Medical Foundation has named Thomas J. Protack Director of Development. In his role, Mr. Protack will work closely with the Boards of Beebe Healthcare and the Beebe Medical Foundation, and the Foundation’s Board of Ambassadors to raise awareness and financial support for Beebe and the health services that it provides.

Mr. Protack also will oversee the Beebe Annual Giving Fund and the major fundraising events that have attracted so many supporters.  Those events include the popular Beebe Art Auction, which kicks off the summer season and raises funds for Beebe and the Rehoboth Art League, the Treat the Beat heart walk that highlights the battle against heart disease, three golf tournaments, and the community’s black-tie event of the year, the Beebe Ball.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Beebe Medical Foundation, I extend a warm welcome to Tom,” said Judy Aliquo, President and CEO of the Beebe Medical Foundation. “He comes with literally a lifetime of experience in Sussex County, working with non-profit organizations raising awareness about their missions and at the same time raising the necessary funds to support those missions.

“We are grateful to have him join the Beebe team and bring his natural gifts and talents to help further Beebe’s Legacy.”

Mr. Protack recently served as Community Engagement Director of Sussex County Habitat for Humanity and is well known throughout Delaware for his commitment to improving the lives of others.

Mr. Protack and Mrs. Aliquo will work together as a team to spread the vision and mission of Beebe Healthcare. They will thank and learn from legacy donors, cultivate new donors and reach into Sussex County by attending community events and gatherings with the goal of increasing participation in the Foundation’s giving opportunities.

“I can attest personally to the wonderful care my own father has received from the highly skilled and  compassionate  doctors, nurses and staff here at Beebe over the years,” Mr. Protack said. “It is a pure joy to now join the Beebe Healthcare team. I look forward to working collaboratively with our leadership, staff, donors and great volunteers.”

Mr. Protack added that as Beebe prepares to celebrate the 100th anniversary (2016) of the founding of Beebe Hospital in Lewes, it is equally important to maintain a strong foundation true to the Beebe heritage. In this way, the organization will continue to provide care for the residents and visitors of southern Delaware.

“We want to ensure Beebe’s presence for another 100 years in Lewes and throughout the area,” Mr. Protack said. “And, we hope to remain a viable and supportive member of the communities of Millville, Millsboro, Long Neck, Milton, Georgetown and Rehoboth.”

Mrs. Aliquo added that “Tom has a contagious enthusiasm and passion that instantly attracts others to come forward to share their gifts and talents.   He has a proven track record of very successful fundraising in a variety of venues. We are pleased he is a member of our team.”
