Freda Hill Burris, Sussex homemaker

Freda Hill Burris of Seaford died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, in the Renaissance Nursing Home in Millsboro.

Born in Seaford, she was the daughter of the late Anna Bahr and William of D.C. Hill. She was a homemaker. She attended St. John's United Methodist Church and was a member of the ladies auxiliary of Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Burris Jr., in 1997. She is survived by a son, Michael H. Burris of Selbyville; a daughter, Mary Lynne Handy of Seaford; a brother, Gerry Hill of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a sister, Gladys Stevens of Lewes; and three grandsons, Scott, Patrick and Michael Handy.

A funeral service will be held Monday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m., at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King sts., Seaford. Burial will be private.
