Delmarva Hand Dance Club donates $1,000 to Diakonia

The Delmarva Hand Dance Club donated $1,000 to Diakonia, a local charitable organization, at its Christmas gathering. Diakonia has been helping individuals and families in Worcester County, Md., and on the Lower Shore by providing shelter, food, clothing and other basic needs in and around Ocean City, Md.

The Delmarva Hand Dance Club is a very active group in Ocean City whose mission to raise money to give to local charities which give 100 percent of funds to the needy. Member Paul Chambers donated his 50/50 winnings for the Christmas cause.

The Delmarva Hand Dance Club meets from 5:30 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday at Peaky's on the eighth floor of the Fenwick Inn in Ocean City for fellowship and dancing; one hour of free dance lessons is included. Peaky's provides the club with discounted dinner prices and happy hour until 9 p.m.
