Anthony E. Marchetti Sr., owned Shell service station

Anthony Edward Marchetti Sr., 72, of Millsboro and formerly of Johnstown, Pa. and Beltsville, Md., passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, in the loving care of his family after a prolonged illness.

He was born June 26, 1941, in Johnstown to the late Paricino and Assunta Tavolieri Marchetti. He was married to Concetta Georgianna Marchetti, who survives him, in 1961. He was the owner/operator of High Point Shell service station in Beltsville, Md. He enjoyed boating and golfing.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, Concetta, he is survived by his children: Anthony E. Marchetti Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Laurel, Md., Michael Marchetti and his wife Melissa, of Catonsville, Md., and Kenneth Marchetti and his wife Kelly of West Seneca, N.Y. He is also survived by a brother: Robert Marchetti, and his wife Florence; along with seven grandchildren: Dominic, Nico, Jeremy, Brenna, Benjamin, Matthew and Patrick. Anthony also leaves behind many extended family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary’s Place, Laurel, Md., Saturday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to either Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriot Way, Milford, DE 19963, or to Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church; 202 Edwards St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
