Clothing Our Kids volunteer deserves praise

January 31, 2014

Clothing Our Kids is a local nonprofit organization that provides elementary school-age children with clothing, coats and more. We depend on the generosity of community members and also depend on our network of volunteers to accomplish our mission.

Today, I would like to recognize one of our outstanding volunteers, Dawnyel Furlong. Dawn is a mother, a registered nurse and a COK volunteer. While pursuing her bachelor of science in nursing, she sponsored a successful clothing drive with her co-workers and planned an entertaining fundraiser at Bethany Blues that included a pro bono performance by The Larks, a talented jazz band. Both of these events greatly benefitted the needy children of Sussex County.

Thank you so much Dawnyel for caring about the children of our community and taking action to help provide for them.
