Jeanne Marie Sgro, MERR volunteer

Jeanne Marie Sgro, 67, of Milton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Christiana Care Health Systems, Newark. She was born in Atlantic City, N.J. Sept. 21, 1946.

Mrs. Sgro enjoyed a longtime career as a research assistant and phlebotomist in the Industrial Biology Laboratories field. She would later change career paths and become a legislative aide for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. In 2008 Mrs. Sgro and her husband, Louis, relocated to the Milton area. Here she would become involved as a volunteer at the Marine Education Research and Rehabilitation in Lewes. In her spare time, Mrs. Sgro enjoyed traveling and visiting historic lighthouses.

Mrs. Sgro is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Louis Sgro; and two daughters: Jeannie Sgro and her husband Christopher D'Andrea of Lebanon, N.J. and Victoria Sgro-Konopka and her husband Nicholas Theodore Konopka of Norfolk, Va.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel. 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will be private.
