Carney delivers valentines to vets

Delaware elementary students make thank you cards

U.S. Congressman John Carney celebrated Valentine’s Day with the launch of his third annual Valentines for Vets program. Students from nine elementary schools across the state made more than 1,000 Valentine's Day cards thanking Delaware veterans for their service. Carney delivered the cards to residents at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford.

Participating schools were Austin D. Baltz Elementary in Elsmere, Booker T. Washington Elementary in Dover, Carrie Downie Elementary in New Castle, Georgetown Elementary in Georgetown, Lord Baltimore Elementary in Ocean View, Lulu M. Ross Elementary in Milford,  Mispillion Elementary in Milford, Paul Laurence Dunbar Elementary in Laurel and Woodbridge Elementary in Greenwood.

Carney is shown with Milford Veterans Home Resident Council members  and students from Epworth Christian School in Laurel.
