SDTR holds first annual dinner dance fundraiser

February 26, 2014

More than 330 supporters of Southern Delaware Therapeutic Horseback Riding came out Valentine's Day for the first dinner dance at the CHEER center in Georgetown. Riders, family, friends as well as community supporters filled the tables and danced the night away to the Funsters. About $24,000 was raised.

The SDTR program has has been providing equine-assisted therapy to children and adults with special needs from Sussex and Kent Counties for over 25 years. Currently they own two horses and lease another. There are 20-25 riders each week that use the private Lewes facility. The board plans to build a new facility. This event was a first step toward achieving this goal.
