Nearly 2,000 people lose power in Milton

February 20, 2014

Matt Likovich, Delmarva Power media relations manager, said a car struck a pole on Route 5 shortly after 6:30 a.m., causing a four-hour-long power outage to nearly 2,000 customers in the Milton area.

The damage was significant enough to cause the pole to have to be replaced, which is not a quick fix, Likovich said. He explained that the damaged pole had to be removed, the new pole installed and the infrastructure turned back on.

The power was returned to all customers by 10:25 a.m., Likovich said.
