UUSD Wild Wild West Auction to be held March 22

February 24, 2014

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware Church in Lewes is hosting its annual auction starting at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 22, and is extending a warm invitation to the larger community. This year’s theme, Wild Wild West, captures the spirit of fun and down-home friendliness that typify UUSD events.

There will be silent and live auctions with a variety of items, dinners, and events to bid on, a costume contest with a $50 cash prize for those wanting to dress up in western gear, a 50/50 raffle, light refreshments and lots of camaraderie. A small entrance donation of $5 is requested.

Auction coordinator Barbara Barnette said, “Each year we hold a fundraising auction of goods and services donated by area businesses, friends and members. This event is a big deal for us and is very enthusiastically supported by our community. We encourage the public to come and enjoy the evening with us.”

UUSD has been an active member of the local community for almost 20 years. It provides a liberal spiritual home that nurtures spiritual growth, embraces diversity, works for justice, and strives for a loving world. UUSD supports the local community in many ways such as assistance to Casa San Francisco and Meals on Wheels, and advocating for social and environmental issues.

The auction will be held at UUSD, 33739 Marsh Road, Lewes. Go to www.uussd.org.
