Mary Elizabeth McCarron, native Washingtonian

Mary Elizabeth (Betty) McCarron, 89, of Ocean View, formerly of Washington, D.C., died Saturday, March 1, 2014.

She was the beloved wife of Vincent P. McCarron for 63 years, and loving mother of Stephen P. McCarron, David J McCarron (deceased), Vincent Sean McCarron and Terri McCarron Lottmann; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was a native Washingtonian, living and working there for 50 years, until she moved to the Delaware shore with her husband. She was a graduate of St. Cecilia Academy in 1942. After retiring to Ocean View in 1992, she was a member of VFW 7234 Women's Auxiliary, and also worked at the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce.

To celebrate her life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 7, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Pkwy., Bethany Beach, where friends may visit the family at the church starting at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
