William H. Noll, active at Angola by the Bay

William H. Noll was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Linden Hll, Pa., to David and Sarah Noll. Bill died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, in LaPlata, Md. He was predeceased by his wife of more than 50 years, Virginia Inman Noll.

He is survived by children Anthony K. Noll (wife Keli) of Mechanicsville, Md., and Ethel N. Altman (husband Terry) of Fulton, Md.; grandchildren Randall K. Noll, and Kelly and TJ Altman; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Harry Thomas (Tom) of Witchita Falls, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill served in the Army in Korea during the Korean War. Later, living in the Washington, D.C. area, he became a civilian worker for the Navy specializing in microphotography. After retirement, he and Virginia settled in the Lewes area where he was very active in the Angola by the Bay community associations. Bill enjoyed people and operated a snow cone machine in the Midway Shopping Center for several summers. Bill enjoyed bowling and was a member of the senior league in Millsboro. Even though he lived in Delaware, he remained a Redskins fan.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, March 17, at the Chapel of the Veterans Cemetery of Sussex County, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
