Lewes man pleads guilty to role in Rehoboth smash-and-grabs

A Lewes man has pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful use of a credit card stolen in a smash-and-grab theft in Rehoboth Beach.

Dale Carter, 51, was arrested by Rehoboth police Feb. 10 after he was identified  using surveillance video from the Lewes Wawa, where Carter and a still unidentified woman used a credit card stolen in a smash-and-grab theft at the Rehoboth shopping center to purchase gas.

Carter was charged with identity theft, unlawful use of a credit card and receiving stolen property in connection with the Jan. 17 incident.
