Doris Marie Lynch, Captain's Table founder

Doris Marie Lynch, 92, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation & Health Center in Millsboro. She was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Rehoboth Beach, daughter of the late John and Estella Messick.

For many years Doris operated a cheese shop and gift store that expanded into lunches and later into the creation of the Captain's Table Restaurant which opened in 1979 and operated until its closing in recent years. Her entire life was the restaurant and all the wonderful people she enjoyed talking to every day.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Pansy Elizabeth Lynch of Rehoboth Beach; grandchildren, Jerry Lynch and his wife of Millsboro, Michael Lynch of Lewes, Renee Howard and husband Albert of Coatesville, Pa., Lisa Lynch of Millsboro, Sharon Lynch and husband David of Tarzana, Calif., Cathleen Homes and husband Michael of Dallas, Texas, Jeffery Lynch and wife Lynn of Georgetown, and Steven Lynch and wife Lorraine of Harrington Park, N.J.; great-grandchildren Kala and Aleida Lynch of Lewes, Miranda Blizzard of Roxana, Danielle and Justin Howard of Coatesville, Ronald Paul Blizzard and Jason Lynch, both of Raleigh, N.C., Taylor Lynch, Addison and Sophia Howard, Walker, Avery and Grace Lynch; and one great-great-grandson, Allan Joseph Lynch of Raleigh.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 17, at Conley's United Methodist Church, 33106 Jolyn's Way, Lewes.

Memorial contributions may be made to Conley's United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes, Lewes.
