Lewes Fire Department Auxiliary celebrates St. Patrick's Day

March 21, 2014

The Lewes Fire Department Auxiliary’s St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance took place March 15. Celebrators kept the dance floor hopping, and delicious fare was provided by the Greene Turtle, Rose & Crown, Irish Eyes, Bethany Blues, Go Brit, Lemon Tree, Arena's, Surf Bagel and Dogfish Head Brewery.

President Pat Jones said, "We are so grateful to the local restaurants and to all those who joined us. It is so nice to be able to count on the support of our community. We couldn’t have done it without them.” She invited the community to check out photos on the Lewes Fire Dept. Auxiliary 82 Facebook page.

Since 1796, citizens of Lewes have stepped forward to join the ranks of the town's volunteer fire service. For 200 years, the association has been filled with men and women wanting to serve others. Since 2009, the LFD once again boasts an auxiliary. It maintains the same mission: to serve.
