Elaine G. Busbee, state park retiree

Elaine G. (Jackson) Busbee, 79, of Delmar, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Elaine was born June 24, 1934, in Centerville, Pa. She was a daughter of the late Leo H. and Beatrice Jackson. She worked for many years for Cape Henlopen State Park. Her hobbies included crafts, puzzles, and yard sales.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Leta “Roxann” Riedel; brothers, Harry, Leo Jr. and Norman Jackson; sisters, Leta Friday and June Bailey. She is survived by her grandchildren, Christina Brzezicki (Mike), Shannon Shelton (Larry), and Jonathan Howard (Amy); five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Sara, Jordan, Catie and Rachel; brothers, Reid Sr., Howard (Hoppy), and Ronald Jackson; sisters, Shirley Brasure and Janet Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 22, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends and family may call after 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Elaine’s name to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963, or CHEER Home Services, 546 South Bedford St. Ext., Georgetown, DE 19947.
