Fifty-eight runners braved the Shamrock Shuffle 15K/ 5K March 15 along the Junction & Breakwater Trail, with 42-year old Todd Buchanan of Reading, Pa., winning the race in a time of 52:50, which was just about a 6:04 pace for a modified course that was slightly under nine miles.
Patrick Peterson, 54, of East Islip, N.Y., was second in 56:24 followed by Lynn Danner, Cody Quig, Eric Farinas, Chris Stanley and Breck Vanderwende.
Ashley Diehl, 34, of Lewes was the women’s winner in 1:04.05, followed by Melanie Murray, 28, of Frankford in 1:04.35.
Linda Schwartz-Chi won the female masters race in 1:13.
Keren Rams, a Cape Henlopen runner and high jumper, won the women’s 5K in 23:22. Her teammate, Rachel Best, was right behind her, clocking the same time.
Dillon Gracey was the overall winner, finishing in 17:21, followed by Rich Jones in 18:59.
