At a recent meeting of the Sussex County Republican Women's Club, new officers were installed during a ceremony held at Baywood Greens. President Alana Keeley, Recording Secretary Jan Stevenson and Treasurer Sally Duveneck were sworn into office by Delaware Federation of Republican Women Immediate Past President Mary Spicer.
Outgoing President Gale White passed the gavel to her successor with words of encouragement as she acknowledged great confidence in Keeley's keen leadership abilities and charged her with the responsibilities of the office. White also pledged to assist the new president as needed.
As Keeley took the podium, she was greeted with a standing ovation. She delivered a speech of dedication to the mission and encouraged all members to actively participate in the activities of the organization and help with the mission of the club.
Spicer said, “It is my honor to be part of the swearing-in for the Sussex County Republican Women's program. I expect to see this club grow and fulfill its mission to help Republican candidates win elections.”
It is the mission of the Sussex County Republican Women's Club to assist in the election of Republican candidates, act as advocates for the Republican Party's principles and empower women to participate in the political process.
