Calvin W. Cropper, SCI retiree

Calvin W. Cropper, 63, of Frankford, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Cropper was born in Frankford Dec. 3, 1950, son of the late Weldon and Arenthia Elizabeth (Core) Cropper. Calvin was a graduate of Jason High School in Georgetown and was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

Calvin retired in 2012, as a correctional officer at the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown, after 30 years of service. Calvin enjoyed horses, motorcycles, sports and hunting.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Chisley and her husband Terry; a godson, Javon Kilgoe; and two brothers, Robert and James Cropper.

A committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 28, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
